IUPUI Last Lecture featuring Miriam Z. Langsam: "From Brooklyn To Retirement And What I Learned On The Way"
Presented by Miriam Z. Langsam, PhD
Emeritus Professor of History and Associate Dean of Students
School of Liberal Arts
Miriam Z. Langsam is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in history from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Langsam joined the faculty in 1964 and was one of the pioneer faculty members who a short time later became the faculty of the embryonic IUPUI. Throughout the course of a forty-year career and beyond, she has contributed to every academic and administrative aspect of IUPUI’s growth and development into a major university. Particularly noteworthy is her service as director of the IUPUI Honors Program for fifteen years. Dr. Langsam is a revered campus figure in the eyes of the thousands of IUPUI students she taught and for whose needs she was a caring and tireless advocate.
