FILM: To be Takei (2014)

This brisk, humorous, and sometimes poignant documentary presents a wide-ranging portrait of the jovial actor and activist George Takei, who spent four years of his childhood imprisoned in a U.S. internment camp for Japanese-Americans during World War II, starred in the groundbreaking role of Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek series, and jumped out of the closet in 2005. George Takei is scheduled to appear for a post-film Q&A. (94 min. Not Rated.)
